14 sept: Lunch at Club Chinois

Firstly, Happy Mid-Autumn Festival everyone! =)

I haven't blogged in a while, and this post will be a short one too. I'm in the midst of my term assessments so I've been pretty preoccupied with my work. Things are so-so at my end so no need to worry. Just the usual irritations and frustrations.

Well yesterday afternoon, my family and I went to this restaurant at Tanglin Road called Club Chinois. We were there to sort of celebrate my mother's chinese birthday. Hmmm.. in actual fact, her chinese birthday is today (yes it coincides with the mid-autumn festival date), but I think my brother had something on today so we celebrated her birthday yesterday instead. We'd been to the restaurant before, so we were expecting some outstanding food, but the meal yesterday was only so-so. On the bright side, the bill was nice to look at since there was a 1 for 1 promotion for Amex card holders. After working out the sums, each person only had to pay about $20+.

Here's some pics:

Club Chinois at level 2.

They had some interesting high-back seats with cushions that I would've liked to sit on, but they were for the smaller corner tables (like for 4ppl) pooey.

Oooh! And they had some really interesting lights!

The dessert menu! Their selection was pretty interesting.

Like this chilled aloe vera jelly with lime syrup flavoured with lemongrass. It was really super yummy!

And this is the chilled cream of pumpkin with purple rice. This one had really nice textures.

What's this? Toothpick holders in extremely rad colours!

Finally, here's some pics of the family!
